Data Usage & Citing

How to Cite:

1) Cite the use of HGD and HymenopteraMine with the most recent HGD publication in NAR:

Walsh AT, Triant DA, Le Tourneau JJ, Shamimuzzaman M, Elsik CG. Hymenoptera Genome Database: new genomes and annotation datasets for improved go enrichment and orthologue analyses. Nucleic Acids Res. 2021 Nov 8:gkab1018. doi: 10.1093/nar/gkab1018. Epub ahead of print. PMID: 34747465.

2) Cite the appropriate genome publications for the genomes you used.

If a genome is not yet published:

Genomes and gene sets are often provided to the public pre-publication to allow research on individual genes to proceed faster than the genome analysis would allow. They are covered by the Ft. Lauderdale (1) and later Toronto (2) agreements whereby the data producers make the data available and state their intent to publish analyses, the data users ask permission to use the prepublication data and cite the appropriate source, and the journals and reviewers make sure that articles are published following the guidelines. Release to GenBank and Ensembl and similar repositories does not constitute publication. Please contact us if you wish to use any genome for which you cannot find the publication.
